Washington:

A devastating tornado has wreaked havoc in the southeastern US state of Kentucky. At least 50 people are feared dead due to the storm. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said the storm devastated several counties. He said it was the deadliest storm in Kentucky history. “I’m afraid more than 50 people have died… Maybe the number could be between 70 and 100, it’s devastating,” he said.

The governor said there were “massive casualties” when a roof collapsed at a candle factory in the city of Mayfield. The governor said he had declared a state of emergency before midnight. The storm has caused havoc in many states of America.

Several emergency vehicles were seen near an Amazon warehouse near Edwardsville, Illinois. It’s not clear how many people were injured, but the emergency management agency of Collinsville, Illinois, called it a “massive casualty” on Facebook. An official told KTVI-TV that more than 100 people working in the night shift are feared to be inside the building when it collapsed.

Meanwhile, Amazon spokesman Richard Rocha said in a written statement Friday night, “The safety and well-being of our employees and partners is our top priority right now.” Will share additional information.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker said: “My prayers are with the people of Edwardsville.” “Our Illinois State Police and Illinois Emergency Management Agency are both coordinating closely with local officials and I will continue to monitor the situation,” he said.

Craighead County Officer Marvin Day told local news channels that rescuers successfully pulled people trapped inside the building, while the building was “considerably destroyed”.

An emergency management official told local media that in Tennessee, at least two people were killed in incidents related to the storm.
