More than 100 people killed in Kabul airport attacks, 13 US forces also lost their lives

As soon as the Taliban occupy Afghanistan, the real identity of their existence has started to be revealed to the world. On Thursday, three blasts took place at Kabul Airport as soon as Afghanistan was captured. In this, 103 people, including 13 US security forces, have died. A large number of people have been injured in the attack.

Western officials feared an attack and urged people to stay away from the airport amid a massive evacuation operation from Kabul airport, but the Taliban’s brutal regime following the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. People eager to leave the country due to apprehension ignored this advice. The attack took place a few hours after being alerted about this.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack on its Amaq news channel. IS-affiliated Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) has claimed responsibility for the attack. This group is far more radical than the Taliban. The Taliban is believed not to be involved in these attacks and has condemned the attacks.

According to the information, one of the attackers targeted the people who were standing in the knee-deep water canal to escape the heat and during this the bodies were scattered in the water. People who had been expecting to board the plane until some time ago were seen taking the injured in ambulances. His clothes were stained with blood.

The blast comes at a time when thousands of Afghans have been trying to leave the country since the Taliban took control and have gathered at the airport for the past several days. During the last week, there was a panic-like atmosphere at the airport to leave this war-torn country.

Some countries have already ended evacuation operations from Afghanistan and started evacuating their soldiers and diplomats. The Taliban had vowed not to attack Western forces during the evacuation operation within the stipulated time frame. However, it has also been reiterated that all foreign troops will have to leave the country within the deadline set by the US on August 31.

Meanwhile, the US Secretary of State said on Wednesday that it is understood that there are still some 1,500 American citizens in Afghanistan, but the ministry said on Thursday that it had confirmed 500 of them had been evacuated. Ahead of the development, the British government warned on Thursday that there were “very credible” intelligence reports of Islamic State (IS or ISIS) terrorists targeting people gathered at Kabul airport in Afghanistan.

British Armed Forces Minister James Happy told the BBC there was “very credible” intelligence that the Islamic State was planning to launch an attack on people who had gathered at Kabul airport in an attempt to leave Afghanistan.
