Women have been facing a lot of difficulties since the Taliban took over in Afghanistan. Taliban leaders have imposed restrictions on women in the country. Must wear hijab. Playing music in vehicles has also been banned in this directive. The Taliban have also ordered the heads of female dummies not to be shown in shops under certain restrictions against women in Afghanistan as it goes against Islamic Sharia law. Tolo News quoted Vida, a protestor, as saying, “How can we find a relative to go out all the time? They said ‘we are not just responsible for your food’, so pay our salary and we can eat, we are not the women of two decades ago, we will not be silent. The protesters said that the Taliban was keeping women away from society by imposing such restrictions.

The protesters also appealed to the international community not to neglect Afghan women. One protester told Tolo News, “We are half of society, we are human beings, we have the right to education and work, I ask the international community not to recognize this government.” However, the protest did not last long and Taliban forces opened fire in the air to disperse the protesters.
