10 killed in firing incident in US, Colorado, one suspect was detained

In a shootout at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado, USA, 10 people, including a policeman, were killed and a suspect was detained in the case. Boulder Police Chief Maris Harold gave information about the number of dead at a press conference on Monday night. Authorities said the suspect is undergoing treatment. There is no danger to the public now.

A man was seen being taken out of the store by the officers, who was handcuffed and bleeding from his leg, but they did not say whether the person was a suspect or not. Harold said the incident killed police officer Eric Talley (51), who had been working with the Boulder Police since 2010.

Boulder County District Attorney Michael Doherty said the families of those killed were being informed so their names could not be disclosed at the moment. Doherty said, “It’s like a nightmare for Boulder County and local, state and federal officials are supporting us.” Boulder Police Commander Kerry Yamaguchi said that police were investigating the incident and the motive for the shootings was not yet known.
